Blair, Dec 19: Due to paucity of fund in road sector in PBMC area, many roads
for new constructions as well as repairs of existing roads in many wards particularly
in the extended 06 wards under PBMC area, could not be carried by the
PBMC. However, on the request of the
Member of Parliament, A&N Islands Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, the A&N
Administration through PBMC/APWD prepared and submitted the total 60 estimations
of works to the MoRTH, New Delhi for obtaining fund sanction under CRF.
Following
the persuasion and meeting held by Mr. Ray, MP with Shri Nitin Gadkari ji,
Minister of Road Transport & Highway, at New Delhi, the Govt. of India has
conveyed sanction for Rs.33.43 Cr. under CRF for new construction/repairs of
all the 60 roads in PBMC wards for a total length around 38 kms under PBMC area
after relaxation of rules as a special case for A&N Islands. This is first time, the Govt. of India has
sanctioned the fund under CRF to Municipal roads.
Shri
BP Ray, MP has expressed his gratitude to Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road
Transport & Highway, GoI, New Delhi, Chief Secretary, Secretary (PWD),
Chief Engineer, APWD, officials of APWD and PBMC of A&N Administration for
their excellent works for timely preparation and submission of DPRs of all the
works within a time bound manner, for according sanction, a communication from
PS to PM said here.
