Port
Blair, Jan 30: The Congress President, Mr. Rahul Gandhi on 29th Jan 2019, has
announced a guaranteed minimum income for the poor across the country, much
like the system of social security in other country like the US. In a press
conference held at Gandhi Bhawan here on Jan 29 evening, the Chief
Spokesperson, PCC, Mr. K Ganeshan said that the Congress party has decided to
implement the historic decision if voted to power in 2019. Mr. Gandhi has said
that the Congress-led government is going to give minimum income guarantee.
This means, each poor person in India will have minimum income. This means
there will be no hungry, poor people in India. The idea of a universal basic
income for the poor will be implemented because we cannot build a new India
while millions of our brothers & sisters suffer the scourge of poverty. If
voted to power in 2019, the Congress is committed to a Minimum Income Guarantee
for every poor person, to help eradicate poverty & hunger. This is the
vision & promise of the Congress chief.
Mr.
Ganeshan & Mr. Tamil Selvam also remained the false promise made by the BJP
during the 2014 Lok Sabha election wherein the Mr. Modi said if voted to power,
the BJP Govt. will provide 2 crore jobs annually. However, as per available
date only 1.5 lakhs jobs has been provided in the last four years. He also
referred to the growing unemployment in the islands. Since the UT administration
is unable to provide jobs to the education, the situation in the islands is
growing tense and more and more educated unemployed youth are rendered jobless.
The
party has done good show in Gujarat and the recent victory in the assembly
elections in the heartland states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and
Chhattisgarh. The first thing, the Congress party has done in the States in
which it has done very good, signoff on loan waivers. With Smt Priyanka Gandhi
Vadra entering into active politics from eastern Uttar Pradesh, the Congress
workers are now jubilant and will go in the 2019 election with the objective to
win.
