In view
of the orders under the National Disaster Management Act 2005, imposed by the
Administration to implement the norms of social distancing to prevent spread of
COVID-19, the Administration has taken various steps to ensure supply of
essential medicines and consultation with Doctors. The following steps have
been taken by the Administration to provide distance medical care to the
patients:-

8 Doctors will
remain available for Tele-Consultancy for PBMC area of South Andaman District.
The people can contact these Doctors by way of tele consultancy from 8.30 am to
1.30 pm in the normal OPD hours. The details of Doctors are as below:-

The Doctors will
obtain detail of the person/patient including the address and Phone Nos. of
patient and prepare a prescription.
·
The hospital
staff will collect these prescription from the consulting Doctor at the closure
hours of OPD i.e. 1.30 pm and obtain medicines from the pharmacy counter of the
hospital and then distribute the same to the patient at his/her door steps.
·
The
Administration also motivating the Private Doctors and private Chemists shops
to join tele-consultancy and door step delivery of medicine by private chemist
shops. The ACCI and A & N Islands Association of Private Practice Doctors
Association have been approached.
The same
facility will be extended to all rural areas of three districts from 27th
March 2020.
