Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Yojana; amount will be credited to bank accounts of 4860 beneficiaries in Islands

Financial assistance of Rs.3000/- to live registered construction sector workers
Amount to be credited through Direct Benefit Transfer

Port Blair, Apr 4: The Govt. of India has announced a financial relief package under the Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Yojana to help the poor to fight the battle against Corona Virus under which it has been advised to utilise the funds under Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Fund to provide assistance and support to Building and Other Construction workers to protect them against economic disruptions.
Accordingly, the Lt Governor, A&N Islands has approved the scheme prepared by the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board of Labour Department to provide financial assistance of Rs.3000/- to approx. 5000 live registered construction sector workers.
The financial relief has been processed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and will be credited to the bank accounts of 4860 beneficiaries in 1-2 days amounting to Rs.1.46 crore approx. Hence, all the live registered beneficiaries have been requested to follow the schedule of disbursement published for withdrawal of amount and also to follow the social distancing norms.
