Citizen’s Corner 22/04/2021

* Kudos to the District Administration of South Andaman for its decision of conducting RAT on incoming flight passengers here, a total of 88 COVID-19 positive cases were found in a week from incoming passengers through airlines. As per experts, each COVID-19 effected person can transmit upto 400 people, so we can assume many islanders were saved through this decision of Administration.

* But the danger sparks in party, as the marriage receptions or birthday functions are being crowded by people including nears and dears from mainland, may be they came earlier than the RAT made mandatory here. Still, the Management of Function Halls is not sanitizing the hall premises properly even after parties, and allowing next parties for party!

* The contacted COVID-19 positive cases are found 140 in a week, which is cause of great worry, but, if the people continue to follow physical distancing, avoiding crowd at markets, shops, wear marks, and keep their hands sanitized, responsibly. The contacts of COVID-19 can be traced early and timely without its spread. Keep up islanders!

* A&N Administration during its continuous interaction with media on COVID-19 status to keep the islanders aware about the situation, in a press brief of 20th April the CS&CA Department has informed that sufficient stock of PDS is available, no shortage of essential supplies, LPG, Petrol and Diesel supply position is under control and its transhipment is uninterruptedly continues. Further, informed that a strict action will be taken against persons black marketing, hoarding and making rumours, if any.
