Citizens’ Corner 27/05/2021

* Kudos to the A&N Administration for being prepared to manage not only Lockdown situation but also Yaas Cyclonic in the A&N Islands amid pandemic. Around 40 trees were fell down during Yaas Cyclone and one died.

* This is the golden opportunity for law enforcement agencies in our country, as Lockdown is imposed due to COVID-19 at most of the territories all over India. Any absconding or other criminals cannot be moved from places where they are and Police can trace and detain them easily to resume a healthy society after pandemic in the national interest.

* Some people are carelessly making plans to travel by air. On the other side Coronavirus is smartly mutating itself to reach every possible human being with a strong variant to infect. However, some section of islanders demand to restrict incoming and outgoing passenger flights until the situation come to ease. But, administration is not taking it seriously, but keep checking at the gateway of COVID-19 infection.

* Even after many initiatives taken since initial stage to put control in surge of Covid-19 cases by the administration, finally the situation come to affect the labourers in the islands again as the restrictions in Complete Lockdown is not letting earn their essential bread.

* There are many intruders, by producing West Bengal's Identity cards entered into these islands as labours, and Security Agency has unchecked their return after contract and failed to send them back on time. Consequently, politically influenced people as Ex-MP, some Pradhans and Councillors helped them to arrange required Local Identity Cards to convert as islanders to strengthen their vote banks in Andaman Islands from Diglipur to Little Andaman.
