The nears and dears have condoled the sudden and untimely demise of Shri T. Suresh Babu, S/o Late T. Ramamurthy, R/o Shadipur, who breathed his last on 21/08/2019 evening at GB Pant Hospital. He was working in the BSNL’s Telephone Exchange Office as contract basis. He was a hard worker and a well being person. He always stood front, in guiding youth and participation in social welfare activities in Shadipur. The members of Buniyadabad have also pray the Almighty to rest his soul in peace and give strength to the bereaved family members.

Stop opening liquor outlets: LA villagers

Hut Bay, Aug 21: Villagers of Rabindranagar and Vivekanandnagar in Little Andaman have raised strong objection to opening of liquor outlets in the region on August 20, 2019. At a meeting held in July this year, the villagers called for the intervention of the Prime Minister, Home Minister as also senior officials of the administration through a letter to stop issue of permits to operate liquor trade in the remote villages. 'Rabindranagar and Vivekanandnagar are remote villages in Little Andaman and opening of liquor Bars will have an adverse impact on school students and women in the region. Teenagers particularly in the age-group of 13-16 years will be the most affected as they may get into alcohol addiction. Besides, affecting our culture and tradition, easy availability of liquor will also have an effect on the Onge tribe here, who often visit Hut Bay for healthcare and other needs', mentioned villagers in the letter.

20th Kargil Vijay Diwas celebration with living Heroes

Seva Niketan Pays Tribute to Gunner M. Dilli Rao

Port Blair, July 17: Mr B.Ishwar Rao, Councillor, P.B.M.C and Mr Mangat Ram, Secretary Seva Niketan Garlanded the statue and paid tributes to Shaheed M.Dilli Rao Gunner of 51 Field Regiment ( Artillery ) who laid down his life, fighting insurgents in Assam on 13th July 2002. At a function held on Saturday 13th July 2019 at Dairy Farm Junction, which was attended by Mr A. Chakraborthy, Warden and Inmates of Seva Niketan, Parents of the braved son, relatives, youths and the general public paid floral tributes to M. Dilli Rao. Inmates of Seva Niketan presented a patriotic song on this occasion. Gunner M. Dilli Rao was a student of Govt. Sec. School, Dairy Farm. Mrm. Mangat Ram briefed about the life of shaheed M. Thoratang Nallah Bridge Re-collapse; show-cause notice issued to respondent *The construction of this bridge is beyond engineering skill or what?

Port Blair, July 13: As per reliable information from the office of Assistant Commissioner (MA) on 12 July, 2019, says that the Bailey bridge on Thoratang Nallah near Swadeshnagar has collapsed again on July 11, 2019 at around 22.00 hrs. The bridge had collapsed earlier on 12th June, 2019 consequent to which its repair was undertaken by NHIDCL through the contractor Ravi Realcon Pvt. Ltd. who had duly given safety certificate on July 11 after its completion following which the bridge was thrown open for public transport for load class up to 40 ton capacity with effect from July 11. As per sources, the Assistant Commissioner (MA) issued a show-cause notice in this regard asking the General Manager of National Highway and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL) to furnish reply within 5 days, failing which, necessary action as deemed fit will be initiated ex-parte.
