  TMI Correspondent Port Blair, March 06: The Andaman Public Works Department (APWD) recently released a notice about "water curtailment in PHED, APWD and PBMC Jurisdiction due to deficit monsoon during 2022 and 2023." The notice states that the storage of water at all sources in South Andaman, including the Dhanikhari Dam, needs to be regulated until the arrival of the next southwest monsoon in May/June 2023. As a result, the water supply to all areas falling under the jurisdiction of PHED, APWD, and PBMC shall now be made once in three days with effect from 09.03.2023 instead of the present schedule on alternate days. The supply from the Dam was 32 Million liters of water per day, which was reduced to 30% from 09 March, and there is no plan for further curtailment because Rutland water project is covering the major part supply. Currently, the Dam is receiving around 06 MLD per day of water from Rutland, and in that, Rutland water supply also directly covers some village

In the video on Feb 02, he has revealed his hardships to work as Councillor of Ward No. 4. He said, there is an acute shortage of Sanitary Inspectors and Sanitary Staffs in the Port Blair Municipal Council, Port Blair due to which proper sanitization becoming tough in the ward and as per sources, the Superintendent Engineer, PBMC also directed the Sanitary Inspectors not to work in Ward No.4, he said. Port Blair, June 16: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, along with the Ex-chairperson PBMC, K Ganeshan today met the Secretary, APWD at his office and discussed major water projects proposed in the islands. He informed the Secretary about the difficulties faced by the residents due to the water crisis Six Municipal Wards, particularly during the dry season. He also requested the Secretary, APWD for completing the repair works of pipelines damaged due to the Dairy Farm Culvert Project. The Secretary, APWD informed the MP that out of the two pipelines damaged at the culvert project site, repair work of one pipeline is already completed and repair work of another pipeline is under progress which will also be completed shortly.
