MP discuses on water projects with Secretary (APWD)

Port Blair, June 16: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, along with the Ex-chairperson PBMC, K Ganeshan today met the Secretary, APWD at his office and discussed major water projects proposed in the islands. He informed the Secretary about the difficulties faced by the residents due to the water crisis Six Municipal Wards, particularly during the dry season. He also requested the Secretary, APWD for completing the repair works of pipelines damaged due to the Dairy Farm Culvert Project. The Secretary, APWD informed the MP that out of the two pipelines damaged at the culvert project site, repair work of one pipeline is already completed and repair work of another pipeline is under progress which will also be completed shortly. Humanity at work for essentially needy in Isles

  TMI Bureau Port Blair, June 09: In the 2nd wave of pandemic in these Islands lot of local private workers and people in general are facing trouble to meet their daily needs because of extended lockdown, and some Social Organizations, Charitable Trusts and Good Samaritans came forward once again to help the needy people in these islands. Accordingly, All India Legal Rights Organisation has distributed Ration Kits among much needed people of Haddo Ward No.2, Mithakari, Ograbranj, Tushnabad, & Chouldari which consist of Rice, 2 types of pulses, 3 types of vegetables, salt, oil, and spices etc. "Efforts are on to help as many needy people of this Islands during this Pandemic Situation" said Mr R. Vasanth, Youth Wing Secretary (AILRO). One Incoming Passenger arrested with 5.5 KG of Ganja

Port Blair, June 02: Following credible information that one person is coming to Port Blair from Chennai in a fight with huge amount of Ganja, a joint team of PS Chatham and PS Aberdeen was formed headed by SI Shubham Ghosh & SI Mazumder respectively on May 31. The team soon reached ITF Ground and checked the belonging of the passenger, Mr. Ganesh Baag, a resident of Chennai and seized 5.5 KG of Ganja. The operation was carried out under the leadership of SDPO, South Andaman, ASP Kalaivanan R under overall supervision of Mr. Ravi Kumar, SP SA. It is believed that more arrests are possible in this case as Mr. Ganesh is working for a Ganja Racket in Andaman.
