Risky Condition of NH-4: Baratang Police dislodges vehicles from potholes and rescues 133 passengers

Baratang, Oct 25: On the 19th of October 2023, an incident occurred at Sastrinallah, Baratang, when a heavily loaded Tipper and an STS Bus got stuck in the deep potholes. Regrettably, this occurrence led to a complete standstill in traffic along NH-4, lasting from 1430 hrs to 2300 hrs. The dedicated efforts of the Baratang Police finally led to dislodging the Tipper and STS Bus from the potholes.

As a result of this incident, the last convoy from JPP Middle Strait to JPP Jirkatang was delayed by 9 hours and resuming back at 1215 hrs. The Baratang Police went an extra mile by arranging a late-night dinner for all 133 passengers, which included children and elderly people who were part of the convoy at JPP Middle Strait.

Two people from UP arrested for Creating Fake Army ID Cards to get access into the Defense establishment

Port Blair, Oct 25: South Andaman Police has taken prompt and stringent action against two persons who were found to be in possession of fake Army Identity Cards and other fake Government documents so as to get access into the Defense establishment. Accordingly, a case under appropriate sections of law has been registered against the violators at Police Station Chatham.

On receipt of a complaint on 21/10/2023, two suspected persons namely Mayank Yadav, aged 21yrs. and Rahul Chauhan, aged 21 yrs., both residents of Uttar Pradesh, were brought to the Police Station Chatham and upon thorough examination of the suspected persons, the police recovered fake Police Character Certificate, their morphed pictures in Army dress, fake army ID card etc. from their possession. Upon this, an FIR was registered at PS Chatham and both the persons were arrested under appropriate sections of law. They were sent to judicial custody to district jail, Prothrapur and Further, Investigation of the case is on.

He informed the Secretary about the difficulties faced by the residents due to the water crisis Six Municipal Wards, particularly during the dry season. He also requested the Secretary, APWD for completing the repair works of pipelines damaged due to the Dairy Farm Culvert Project. New terminal building of VSI Airport is likely to be operational from this June; 96% works done until now, up to mid of May will reach to its 100% completion

TMI Correspondent Port Blair, Apr 17: The most awaited Shell-shaped terminal building of Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands is likely to become operational by this June. Prakash Reddy, General Manager (Project), Airport Authority of India made a visit to the under construction building new terminal of VSI Airport on April 17, 2023. Prakash Reddy has informed the scribes that the work was started from April 2017, until now 96% of work is completed and overall cost for the building is Rs.707 crores.
