Rangat Police uncovers embezzlement of Govt. fund

Mayabunder, Nov. 29: A case of misappropriation of Government funds amounting to Rs.56,88,395/- at the ANIDCO Wine Shop, Rangat was registered at PS Rangat under relevant sections of the law on 25/10/2023. Two of the accused persons were arrested on the same day and sent to judicial custody after thorough interrogation. However, a widespread search of prime accused namely G. Vinod Kumar, Manager of ANIDCO Wine Shopwas underwayas he was missing from these islands. In response, a dedicated team was immediately formed, and an extensive search of the accused was carried out throughout these islands and mainland as well. The topic for the competition was 'East of West - India is the Best.' Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, the Adhyaksh of Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, graced the event as the Chief Guest. Dr. Utpal Sharma, the Principal of DBRAIT, was the guest of honor on the occasion. TMI Bureau Port Blair, Nov 15: "When an employee receives a transfer order to the Southern group of Islands, their mindset is initially prepared for a specific period or tenure according to the transfer policy. Despite facing various challenges, including a lack of accommodation facilities, government quarters, guest houses, mess facilities, and boat/ship services, even female employees, proceed with the transfer. However, after their designated tenure is over, they often become victims of favoritism and influence, subject to mockery through biased transfers. It has been observed that many government employees working under the Andaman and Nicobar Administration, after serving for several years in the Southern group of remote Islands, are forced to remain stationed there even after the completion of their tenure. Major Fire Incident at Phoenix Bay and Dairy Farm in Port Blair on the eve of Diwali 2023

Port Blair, Nov 15: City witnessed 02 major fire incidents on Nov 12, 2023. The First incident occurred at Phoenix Bay near Hotel TSG Emerald View in a wooden structured storage godown at 1902 hrs. involving blast of Acetylene, Ferron, and LPG Cylinders, which rapidly spread to the adjacent wooden structure dwelling house. 07 Fire tenders, 01 Bouser and 01 Foam Tender from Fire Station Aberdeen, Chatham, Marine, Haddo Wharf, and Garacharma were promptly rushed to the spot and pressed into service to douse the flames. Fire Brigade team, despite facing series of blasts, effectively conducted the Fire Fighting Operation and prevented the spread of flames to adjacent residential and commercial shops.
